The proposed name for a futuristic residential development in Bradford has been revealed by developers.

The 17-storey development, to be built on a vacant patch of land bounded by Trafalgar Street and Snowden Street, near Manningham Lane, is to be called Matrix BD1.

The project, which has planning permission and is due to get underway in spring 2009, will comprise 362 apartments.

The scheme's oval tower, clad with stainless steel, is designed to provide a landmark at one of Bradford's main gateways.

Hmm - sounds better than Mallinson Towers I suppose - I await the news that Maud Marshall will be buying one as soon as they are on the market....

In spring 2009 the UK housing market will be toast.

They could have given the tower any ridiculous name they want because it will almost certainly not be going ahead.

Unfortuneatly for Bradford Mrs MM and here mates due to their naivity and total incompetence have brought about the Bradford you now see around you a bomb site. The city must be the laughing stock of the construction industry and the saviour of the paper industry, why o why do we continue to allow these people to reap massive salaries for getting us deeper into the mire.Perhaps Mathew has the correct idea lets make the centre into a proper park like a smaller Central park or Hyde park.

Ooh goody!
More empty apartments for the city centre.

Who wants to live in a city centre which is dead after 5pm? Now if only the Odeon was refurbished and provided a buzz in centre, someone might actually want to stay there.
