The Telegraph & Argus has opened a book of condolence for 12-year-old hit-and-run victim Bilal Raffey Khizar.

Bilal, believed to be a pupil at Bradford Academy, died when he was struck by a car fleeing police as he crossed Rooley Lane next to the Asda superstore on Saturday evening.

Such a tragedy. I didn't know the boy, but hope his family can take comfort from the wonderful comments peopls have made, he sounded a very special boy. I also hope the driver of the vehicle is dealt with correctly.

I saw Bilal briefly on Saturday at 7pm. Feel very angry at what has happened. My thoughts go out to his family and friends. He had a lovely cheeky face, and I would imagine after meeting him you would never forget him.

Our billy was always smiling, joking, caring and loving. Bilal Raffey Khizar was a soul from paradise. Our thoughts go to the parents and other family. God Almighty bless them with great patience. Aamen. My advise to every body especially the youngsters. Don,t put your head down while crossing the road, even when the light is green. Constantly keep on watching both sides of the road. The majority of incidents happens while ignoring this Warning.
