A Baildon woman has celebrated her 100th birthday.

Louie Butterfield marked her big day with an open house and she showed off her birthday card from the Queen.

Mrs Butterfield has lived in the Shipley area all her life and grew up in Crag Road, Windhill, and attended the then Shipley Church School.

She worked as a weaver in Dock Lane, Shipley, and married Harry Butterfield.

The two lived in Shipley, but Harry died 20 years ago and now Louie lives in Baildon.

Her friend Elizabeth Little helped to celebrate Louie's big day.

Mrs Little said: "I have known Louie for 30 years.

"She is house-bound but the neighbours look after her.

"She has her off days, but she can have a great sense of humour."
