Firefighters were called to Baildon Moor when a 60 square-metre patch of moorland went up in smoke.
Officers from Shipley and Bingley attended at about 1pm today. They were in attendance for more than an hour. An area of gorse and heather was damaged in the blaze off Bingley Road, Baildon.
Watch manager Nick Padwick said: "It is the first time we have been up there so far this year. The fire was a result of the good weather and the fire has smouldered as a result of something like a discarded cigarette."
