Owners leave dog waste bags on moor
Anti-social dog-walkers are discarding plastic bags containing dog waste on footpaths and sports fields.
One angry walker who contacted the Telegraph & Argus said of the problem around Baildon Moor: "The bags are sometimes hanging from trees. If people have the inclination to bag it up and tie it to a tree why can't they extend that to taking it home and putting it in the bin?"
Catharine O'Connell, spokesman for Baildon Rugby Club, said: "It's disgusting that people think it's acceptable to let their dogs on to a sports field. We have had players covered in dog dirt."
A Bradford Council spokesman said: "Moorland is exempt from the Dog Fouling of Land Act but we would urge people whose dog fouls to bag it up, take it away and put it in their own bin because the Council does not provide dog waste bins."

I've seen this happen in lots of parks and walking areas - the dog owners clear up the ****, bag it and then hang it on a tree. Now, much as I loathe treading in dog faeces, I think this is actually worse than leaving it on the ground, because it degrades slower, adds to the amount of litter, and, let's face it, little bags of dog poo hanging from the trees is not a pretty sight. Furthermore the dog-poo stained plastic bag could take up to a thousand years to degrade - which is considerably longer than the original **** would take...
