Police to speak to rail users

3:45pm Tuesday 15th April 2008

By Marc Meneaud »

The Aire Valley Rail Users Group is holding its annual meeting on Saturday at Saltaire Methodist Church, Saltaire Road, Saltaire, at 2pm.

Following the formal business there will be a presentation by Chief Inspector Dave Oram, of British Transport Police, and a question and answer session.

Tim Calow, chairman of AVRUG, said "We have an excellent rail service at present, provided largely by the new class 333 electric units.

"Demand for rail travel continues to grow and we will continue to campaign for further investment in our rail services.

"Investment in the rail services can attract extra passengers who will leave their cars at home. This can ease pressure on the already congested road system."
