PLANS to build a house on land on the edge of Baildon Moor been approved, despite the objections of Shipley MP Philip Davies.
Yesterday Bradford Council's Keighley and Shipley area planning panel gave the go ahead for a house and attached garage to be built on Green Lane, on the edge of Baildon Moor.
The plans, submitted by S Bairstow, had attracted over 30 objections, including from Mr Davies, Baildon Town Council and Baildon councillors.
There have been numerous other applications to build on the site, accessed by a bridleway, over the years, which have either been refused or withdrawn.
Objectors had raised issues from increased traffic to the impact on wildlife and neighbouring houses.
But planning officers pointed out that the plans would see part of the bridleway widened, which they claimed would make the route safer.#
Ian Bairstow, speaking for the applicants, said they had worked closely with officers when designing the plans, and had already tweaked the design twice to address the objections. He said: "A lot of time and effort has gone into this proposal."
The panel voted to approve the home.
