Motorists faced rush hour chaos this morning with long tailbacks on the eastbound M62 and the southbound M606.
The problems stemmed from a broken down vehicle between Junction 26 of the eastbound M62 at Chain Bar and J27 at Gildersome.
The incident also led to congestion on alternative routes into the city centre, including Tong Street.
