Bradford councillors' silent tribute to Afghan war hero Sgt Gareth Thursby, former Lord Mayor Stanley King and MP Marsha Singh

Councillors held a minute’s silence in memory of former Bradford Lord Mayor Stanley King and Bradford West Labour MP Marsha Singh, soldiers from the 3rd Battalion The Yorkshire Regiment and a former Bradford councillor.
Tributes were paid to the former Bradford politicians at last night’s Council meeting, while Sergeant Gareth Thursby, of Skipton, and Private Thomas Wroe, of Holmfirth, who died in Afghanistan last month, were also remembered.
