Positive Minds chairman Marilyn Foster with Councillor Dale Smith
The Lord Mayor of Bradford, Councillor Dale Smith, helped to launch a forum to tackle elderly mental health problems in Bradford.
The Older People’s Mental Health Partnership Forum is the brainchild of Positive Minds, an alliance campaigning for better health services for older people. It is run in partnership with Bradford Council.
Marilyn Foster, chairman of Positive Minds, said: “What we are trying to do is set up some networks in the city which are going to help us to influence how mental health in older people is tackled. It is about early intervention and prevention work and looking at how older people can help with that.”

Older people who are deemed to be still of working age are at risk of suffering a decline in their mental well-being due to the undue amount of pressure being placed upon them by the DWP and their minions at the privately-run Work Programme, whose constant bullying is driving people into hardship and despair. Starvation or suicide are becoming the only options for many.
