A woman in her 20s was raped after walking alone following a night out in Keighley with work colleagues, Bradford Crown Court heard.

The woman was picked up in the street and driven by her attacker to a rural area, probably on the St Ives Estate in Harden, near Bingley, the jury was told yesterday.

She blacked out after being twice raped in the back of a car and arrived home in a hysterical state, with no shoes, bag or phone, prosecutor Sophie Drake alleged.

Fiazul Islam, 32, of Mannville Road, Knowle Park, Keighley, denies two charges of raping the woman, between July 21 and 24, 2010.

Miss Drake said his defence will be that the sex was consensual.

She told the jury that the woman was in Keighley for a night out with colleagues.

They went to the Royal Oak, on for a curry and then back to the pub until 11pm.

The colleagues then took a shared taxi but the woman, who was last in the cab, decided to get out and walk.

Miss Drake said a female colleague texted her twice to see if she had got home safely but there was no response.

The woman was seen staggering on to Oakworth Road, Keighley, the jury was told.

She recalled being driven in a car and Miss Drake said she was taken to a rural area.

The man with her was muscular as if he went to the gym, the jury was told.

Miss Drake said the woman alleged she was raped twice as she cried in pain and tried to push her assailant away.

The police were called after she arrived home distressed in the early hours. She had scratches to her body.

Her shoes and bag were found by a dog walker months later and her phone was discovered by the police in Islam’s bedroom, the jury was told.

Miss Drake said the woman would have been two and a half times the legal alcohol driving limit at the time of the alleged rapes.

The trial continues.
