Two knife-wielding robbers are being hunted by police after a raid at a newsagents.
The incident happened at about 9.15pm on Friday, when the robbers, wearing balaclavas, burst into the shop on Thornton Road, at the junction with School Green, Thornton.
They demanded a woman in the shop opened the till, before going behind the counter to help themselves to cash.
However, the newsagent called her husband and son for help and the pair tangled with the robbers.
The woman’s son suffered a cut before the robbers escaped.
Once out of the shop, they fled in a white-coloured car, which made off towards Allerton.
The robbers are described as both being men wearing black balaclavas, gloves and dark clothing.
Detective Inspector Ryan Bragg of Airedale and North Bradford CID, said: “This was a violent offence by offenders brandishing weapons resulting in one of the victims receiving injuries. I would urge any witnesses to this crime or anyone who has any information to contact Airedale and North Bradford CID on 101.”
