Boy, 12, killed in hit-and-run in Bradford

A 12-year-old boy has been killed by car evading the police in south Bradford.

The youngster suffered fatal injuries when he was hit by a red Seat Ibiza as he crossed Rooley Lane near to the Asda store at about 7pm on Saturday night.

The car then collided with two more vehicles on the Chain Bar roundabout with the M606, before it was later recovered on Westfield Lane, Wyke.

It had initially sped away from officers who went to check on it as it was parked in a lay-by in Rooley Lane.

Two people have been arrested in connection with the incident, but West Yorkshire police are appealing for witnesses.

Any witnesses are asked to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
