A student is taking part in a six-hour sponsored silence in aid of the Bradford Hospitals Children’s Charity.

Waqas Mohammed, a Bradford College student, will undertake the challenge at the college’s Westbrook campus reception in Great Horton Road, tomorrow.

Waqas, 18, said: “I’ve decided to support this new charity because I think it will make a real difference to the sick children of Bradford and the time they and their families spend in hospital.

“It’s not going to be easy remaining silent – and I am sure there will be lots of students trying to get a reaction from me – but I will carry out my pledge of silence and hopefully raise a lot of money for a worthwhile cause.”
