Fire crew called as Eccleshill woman, 75, falls

Firefighters had to force their way into the home of a 75-year-old woman who had fallen.

Crews from Idle fire station were called to a flat in Whitebeam Walk, Eccleshill, Bradford, by the daughter of the woman.

A West Yorkshire Fire Service spokesman said the daughter was unable to get in as the woman had left her keys in the lock on the other side of the door.

She said: “We had to gain entry to the flat where the elderly lady had fallen out of bed.

“We got paramedics out to give her a precautionary check, but she was fine.”

Crews were called to the scene at about 11.30pm on Thursday.
