Gargrave vicar the Rev Rod Geddes has preached at his last service before retiring.
Mr Geddes, who was ordained in 1991, has been at St Andrew’s Church for nearly 10 years.
“It has been a privilege to be part of people’s lives,” said Mr Geddes, who celebrated his 65th birthday in August.
He spent 20 years in the teaching profession before entering the church and spending nine years on the Isle of Man.
He and his wife, Valerie, are planning to move to Earby shortly.
“I am looking forward to see what God has got in store for the future. I have got an allotment, hope to do more reading, listen to music and get back into walking,” said Mr Geddes.
And the couple hope to see more of their children - a son who lives on the Isle of Man and a daughter, who lives near Stockport.
