Keighley Leisure Centre swimming pool to close for two months

Keighley’s public swimming pool is to close for two months while maintenance work is carried out in the plant room.
The swimming pool will be closed from Monday, November 5, until Wednesday, January 2. Other sports facilities at Keighley Leisure Centre – the Clubactive fitness centre, sports hall, squash courts, sauna and steam rooms – will be open as normal.
The major maintenance work includes replacing the obsolete gas boilers with new energy-efficient ones.
It will also see the replacement of the main control panel, hot water and swimming pool chlorifiers and water pressurisation unit.
As a result hot water will not be available in the Leisure Centre for the first four weeks of the work.
Councillor Andrew Thornton, Bradford Council's executive member for environment and sport, said: “We apologise for any inconvenience but this work has to be done.”
