Bradford free school in tune with pupils

Children at the country’s first specialist music primary school are enjoying the first term at their Bradford free school.

Youngsters at Dixons Music Primary, which opened its doors in September, have been taking part in lessons with keyboards, djembe drums, hand bells and singing as well as learning how to compose their own music. Michelle Long, head of school, said: “I am very impressed with how well the children have settled into school. The children have been working very hard and I especially enjoy the mini music performances.” The school is holding two open afternoons for prospective parents on Friday, November 9 and Wednesday, November 14.
