Teenage Bradford trio accused of sex attack on drunken girl 14

Two girls and a boy accused of carrying out and filming a sex attack on a 14-year-old girl in Bradford will face trial after denying the counts against them.

Bradford and Keighley Youth Court yesterday heard a dog walker had discovered the half-naked 14-year-old lying “unresponsive” on waste ground on December 22 and raised the alarm.

The court was told the girl had to be admitted to intensive care at Bradford Royal Infirmary because she had consumed so much alcohol.

Police inquiries then allegedly discovered a picture of her on a third party’s phone showing her “unconscious in very compromising positions”, the court heard.

The trio, two girls, one aged 13 and one aged 14, and a 15-year-old-boy, appeared in court to face accusations of sexual assault and taking an indecent photograph or pseudo-photograph of a child.

The 14-year-old girl is also accused of distributing an indecent photograph or pseudo-photograph of a child.

The three defendants, who live in Bradford but who cannot be named for legal reasons, pleaded not guilty to the charges against them.

Prosecutor Tariq Boston told the court that it was a matter which should be dealt with at Crown Court.

“The photographs are described as showing the complainant unconscious in various compromising positions in various states of undress,” he said.

“The sentencing guidelines are that the maximum penalty for an adult is life with a starting point of ten years.”

Magistrates adjourned the case and granted the defendants, who were accompanied in court by their parents, conditional bail to return on October 26.
