Care homes set for musical moments
Residents in Bupa care homes in Bradford and Shipley are preparing to bring musical legends to life as part of plans to mark Bupa’s Musical Moments week.
Musical Moments, which runs from October 1 to 7, is a new project which celebrates music through the ages and is aimed at promoting the therapeutic benefits of music.
The Dales Nursing Home in Thornbury is hosting a 1960s party and is inviting members of the community to join staff and residents on Wednesday, October 3, from 2pm.
Judith Reyner, care home manager, said: “We’re hoping to get everyone involved in celebrating how powerful music is in lifting spirits, getting minds dancing and toes tapping.”
A 1940s-themed event will also be open to the community at The Borrins Residential Home in Shipley on Saturday, October 6 from 2pm.
Musical Moments is supported by Music in Hospitals, a national charity which provides professionally performed concerts to improve the lives of those in care.
