9:00am Monday 24th September 2012 in News
The number of complaints received by Bradford Council’s Adult and Community Services has reduced by five per cent in the last year.
A report to the Social Care Overview and Scrutiny Committee reveals there were 138 adult social care complaints recorded in the year ending March 31 – a six per cent reduction on 2010/11.
The report to the committee, which meets on Wednesday, says 91 per cent of complaints were acknowledged within two working days, an improvement on the previous year, with the average time taken being one day.
The percentage of upheld complaints has been reduced from 21 per cent to 14 per cent, while the Local Government Ombudsman opened investigations on nine complaints, compared to seven the previous year. Of those, two were upheld and five were not.
A total of 58 per cent of complaints were responded to within 15 working days and 79 per cent within 20 working days. The average time taken was 17 days, two days quicker than in 2010/11.
