Getting to Carleton Primary School is a scoot!

Some of the children on their scooters
Youngsters at Carleton Primary School must be among the fittest in the district – for at least a third of them regularly walk, cycle or scooter to school.
The news comes after three scooter racks were installed last year, which cater for up to 60 machines.
“I am really pleased as we now have lots of children who walk, cycle or scooter to school,” said headteacher Duggie Speight.
“The racks have been a good addition and it’s great because the children can play on their bikes and scooters before and after school.”
The scooter racks, which cost about £1,000, were funded by Walk to School money.
