Youth groups set to gain funds
11:00am Wednesday 19th September 2012 in News
Eight groups in Bradford West are being recommended for funding to help them run projects that benefit young people.
Applications have been submitted to Bradford Council’s Youth Opportunity Fund, which is a pot of £250,000.
The money is split across the district’s five areas, so £50,000 is available to groups in Bradford West.
Out of the nine bids in this area, eight are being recommended for funding by a grants advisory group, for amounts varying from £1,000 to £5,000.
In a report to the meeting, senior youth work manager Heather Esiri, said: “The Youth Opportunity Fund is part of the Early Years Intervention Grant held by Children’s Services. As part of the re-modelling of the Youth Service to demonstrate commitment to the approach to devolution, YOF funding of £50,000 was allocated to each area.”
Applications for a second round are still being taken, with the deadline 4.30pm on Friday, October 19.
