Food lovers descended on Roberts Park in their thousands today to savour tastes from around the world at the tenth annual Saltaire Festival .
It is the first time the ten-day event has staged a dedicated food and drink festival, which included cookery demonstrations and stalls selling everything from hand-pulled real ale to cheese, chutneys, curries and Indian sweets.
Chefs from the Shipley -based Aagrah chain of restaurants, including the company’s executive chef, Mohammed Aslam, showed their cookery skills in a series of masterclasses, next door to an outdoor Food Garden restaurant.
Continental fare was on offer in Victoria Road and bargain hunters browsed vintage fashion at the Saltaire Vintage Home and Fashion Fair in Victoria Hall.
There were also art installations including a giant Pegasus, a huge, blue dragon and a pair of comedy lifeguards putting on a show for the visitors to Roberts Park.
