Haworth weekend event raises £12,000 for troops

Injured British troops and families are set to benefit from a donation of £12,000 raised at Haworth ’s annual 1940s weekend in May.
Organisers of this year’s event have given the money to Help for Heroes .
The 1940s Weekend event manager Nikki Carroll said: “It’s absolutely phenomenal – we’re really pleased.
“It’s all about the community coming together to put on this event.”
Most of the money was raised through sales of the events programme, which was done in the style of a 1940s magazine.”
She said the wartime-themed programme was put together by Caroline Rose, of Rose and Co Apothecary.
