Decision due on bid for Bulls
8:00am Wednesday 8th August 2012 in News
The administrator of the Bradford Bulls is expected to announce whether he will accept an offer for the club from Super League Europe by the end of the week.
The Rugby Football League last night said it had yet to hear if administrator Brendan Guilfoyle had approved the proposed takeover but hoped to receive a response tomorrow.
Mr Guilfoyle, who has been running the club since it went into administration on June 26, received an offer from Super League Europe, the umbrella organisation for the 14 top-flight clubs, last Wednesday night.
If accepted, it would stave off the threat of liquidation and ensure Bulls can complete the season – although its future in the top-flight after this season is not secure.
The body stepped in with the “short term” measure amid growing fears that the club was facing collapse after the Rugby Football League twice rejected offers from a consortium led by a group of Bradford businessmen.
Mr Guilfoyle was not available for comment yesterday.

Then the banks decision to claw back the overdraft.
These decisions have cost us the supporters our club-our players-the coach and every infrastructure gained by the "Bulls Foundation" over many years.
Then the RFLs stance in not negotiating with those who just may have given us a chance for a future in Super League, plus a development of the stadium in a modular form. ie Restaurants-Hotel-pr
operly equipped sports centre .(Richard Dunnes)
So why we blame anyone for trying to get us back on track, as a club we own, and not one being bailed out by an organisation that helped to get us where we are. (By probably clawing back their debt with a purchase they didn't want anyway.) I say if the ABC or anyone else for that matter gives us a survival package, with conditions attached. Let's go for it full tilt, and back whoever does it. As supporters who have suffered this ridiculous scenario for many months, we deserve to be talking to the "Organ Grinder" and not the "Monkeys!"

Obviously thats just theorycrafting but the way it appears those in power at the Bulls were running the shop I bet it isn't a million miles from the truth.
I already see shots have been fired at the RFL but lets remember, this debt didn't just appear overnight and it's far deeper than the owner wanted you to know. £1.5m is the rumoured debt and that is after sale of lease, pledges, receipt of gate monies from fellow SL clubs, mass redundances across the board. Pinpointing it to one moment is crazy, there are many factors in this starting with planning and decisions from the top.

The players, backroom staff and the fans deserve better.
There is something not quite right here. The ABC bid is supposedly accepted by Guilfoyle but rejected by the RFL and now SLE bid is accepted by RFL but not (as yet) accepted by Guilfoyle? How can this be? Just adds fuel to the conspiracy theorists fire. You are all (supposedly) professional people get it sorted before it is beyond resolution.

As they won't guarantee ABC a SL licence one has to presume the bid includes wiping off past debt. That appears to be a major sticking point.

Why if he is there in the background doesn`t he do what he did 6 years ago and leave and let people who have the club at heart get on with trying to save the club after his intervention back in April accelerated this mess?

There is always one name that pops up in the conspiracy Chris Caisley`s. If right this arrogant guy not only splits the fans he split the board and now it looks like the SLE. He has earned good living out of being involved in RL over the years in one way or another.

Who should he let sort out the mess - who exactly is it that has "the club at heart" and can save it from extinction?
Just saying if it were my money the last thing I'd do is walk away at this stage

The shares were worth diddly squat anyway all they gave him was bullying power.
Maybe once he is truly out of the way we may then find someone to come in.
Again in response to your last sentence the shares weren`t worth anything.

The shares probably are worthless at the moment save for voting rights.
I just think better the devil you know, with the multitude of bids coming in (!) I dont see that bit that fills us with confidence that theyve got the club at heart

Maybe the SLE bid pulled the rug from under Caisley!

Fingers crossed serious about the club rather than serious about selling 11 thousand curries each home game.
Or was it 14 thousand

if SLE get the deal he would have to deal with them rather than his pal.And I don"t think he is too popular down at Red Hall.
The new bidder would still have to deal with RFL over lease issue of course.
Everyone should be aware the RFl are insisting on full pay out to creditors Blake Solly has said as much with his "moral" comment.

If there are more offers on the table we the fans deserve to know, as this situation has gone on long enough!
