TOP TYKE: Brewer Ian Cowling with a glass of the official Yorkshire ale
Staff at a Keighley brewery will be raising a toast in true Tyke style with their own brew – the official beer of Yorkshire Day.
The Yorkshire Society asked Ian Cowling , the owner of Old Bear brewery in Aireworth Road, to create the beer, Yorkshire Day Ale, for its official celebrations in 2008. And it has been supped on August 1 ever since.
Proud Yorkshireman Mr Cowling said: “A lot of microbreweries brew their own ale to mark the day but ours is the only official ale of Yorkshire Day!”
