A fracas inside a city centre nightclub leaves two men with stab wounds
7:00am Tuesday 31st July 2012 in News By Steve Wright, Crime Reporter
Detectives investigating a fracas at a Bradford nightclub have now revealed that it left two men in hospital with knife wounds.
The men, both aged 26, were continuing to receive treatment at Bradford Royal Infirmary yesterday, more than 24 hours after the incident.
One man suffered an injury to his abdomen and the other a stab wound to the upper chest. Their injuries are not life-threatening and they were said to be in a stable condition.
As reported in yesterday’s Telegraph & Argus, the attack took place in the early hours of Sunday morning at Club Cs, formerly known as Conuco’s, in Sackville Street in Bradford city centre.
Bradford South Police are investigating the stabbings, which they said happened on the premises, following an argument between a group of people.
Detective Sergeant Simon Pridgeon, of Bradford South CID, said the incident happened between 5am and 6am.
He said: “There was a fight inside the premises involving a group of people. During the incident two men, both aged 26, suffered stab wounds.
“One suffered a wound to the upper torso, around the chest and shoulder area, the other received a wound to his abdomen.”
Police have not recovered the weapon used in the incident but believe it was a knife.
Det Sgt Pridgeon said police were still trying to establish a motive for the incident.
He added: “There was some sort of fall-out or argument but we do not yet know what it was about.
“Our inquiries are continuing into why this occurred and who was responsible. We urge anyone with any information to come forward.”
Police had cordoned off the street for almost 12 hours while forensic investigations were carried out.
The club attracts people from across the North of England for its club nights.
Anyone with information, or who witnessed the incident, is asked to contact Bradford South CID on 101, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
