Allen aims for racing cash boost

MORETON-in-Marsh racer Marcus Allen is looking to keep his chances of success in the Formula Renault Series on track by raising much-needed funds.

The 21-year-old, who drives for Hillspeed, competed at the first two meetings of the season at Snetterton and Rockingham, but was unable to line up at Thruxton last month after running out of money. Drivers have to provide their own funding and Allen is now bidding to find a sponsor to enable him to complete the calendar.

The North Yorkshire circuit of Croft is next this weekend followed by Donington Park next month and Silverstone in October.

Allen, a former national junior karting champion, said: “At the start of the season my dad was funding it but he pulled out because we were not getting good enough results.”

For sponsorship, call Allen on 07809 151769.
