Cannabis discovery in Clayton railway tunnel

8:50am Saturday 16th June 2012

More than 500 cannabis plants have been found in a disused railway tunnel near Clayton.

The discovery close to Baldwin Lane was made yesterday by a Network Rail worker carrying out a routine inspection.

Police confirmed they got a call reporting the cannabis factory just before 12.30pm from a worker who said he had walked about half a mile into the tunnel when he found a tent and inside it hundreds of plants and equipment.

The plants have now been seized by police officers.

Anyone with information should call North Bradford Neighbourhood Policing Team on 101.
