A motorcyclist killed in the Yorkshire Dales has been named as Kyle Luke Stock.
Mr Stock is from the Birstall area and 25 years old, police have revealed.
He had been heading towards Grassington on his red and blue Honda when the incident occurred. He was in collision with a white Heavy Goods Vehicle travelling in the opposite direction.
The accident happened on the B6265 between Grassington and the village of Hebden at about 9.20am on Saturday.
The stretch of road at the scene of the incident is in a 60mph zone but it is notorious for its bends and blind spots, say villagers.
Police are appealing for anyone who saw either vehicle before the crash to contact them.
The HGV involved is understood to have been one of the wagons belonging to Hebden-based haulage company Longthornes, at the back of The Clarendon Hotel.
Mr Stock, whose family have been informed, died at the scene close to a house known locally as Halfway House because of its midway location between the village and Grassington.
The HGV driver was not hurt in the incident.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 2 and ask for TC Kenneth Riley at Skipton Road Policing Group.
The road was closed for more than four hours to allow collision investigators to examine the scene.
One villager, who did not want to be named, said: “It’s a very windy, bendy bit of road with blind spots. It’s a 60mph zone where it happened but it’s 40mph as you pass the village hotel.”
