A 28-year-old man has been jailed for 18 months for a “brutal and sickening attack” on his girlfriend.
Emma Feather’s blonde hair turned red as she bled heavily from six cuts to her head during a drunken beating from Guy Metcalfe, Bradford Crown Court heard yesterday.
Metcalfe dragged Miss Feather from their home by the hair, threw her to the ground and stamped on her head, prosecutor Nigel Hamiliton said.
Their neighbour, Donna Musgrove, was commended by Judge Jonathan Durham Hall QC for diving on top of Miss Feather to shield her.
Metcalfe, of Bankfield Mount, Keighley, pleaded guilty to causing Miss Feather actual bodily harm on January 11.
Metcalfe’s barrister Simon Myers said he was very remorseful for what he had done.
