Pop-soul sensation Maverick Sabre has been named among five more top acts confirmed for the three-day Bingley Music Live festival.

He will appear alongside hotly-tipped new acts Delilah, StooShe, Yes Sir Boss and The Idiot B*stard Band – featuring Bradford-born actor and comedian Ade Edmondson.

Organisers at Bradford Council have previously announced appearances from drum and bass chart-topper DJ Fresh, West Yorkshire guitar heroes The Pigeon Detectives, indie rockers Hard-Fi, and Madchester survivors The Charlatans.

Folk group Miles & Erica, and comedy folk band The Lancashire Hot Pots will play on the new Raise The Roof Stage during the festival, which is expected to attract more than 46,000 people to Myrtle Park on the weekend of Friday, August 31, until Sunday, September 2.

Maverick Sabre first came to prominence last January when he provided guest vocals on the track Jungle by Professor Green, who performed in Myrtle Park in 2010.

He has since received critical acclaim for his debut album Lonely Are The Brave, which introduced the London-born singer’s soulful vocals and pop-soul and rap fusion.

Hotly-tipped solo artist Delilah is best-known for appearing on Time by Bingley Music Live’s 2011 headliner Chase And Status.

The North Londoner has received comparisons with Katy B for her mixture of dubstep, soul, trip hop, and retro-chill out, and is now preparing for the release of her first album From The Roots Up.

StooShe will add some girl power to the festival’s bill with their take on pop and hip-hop.

The trio were nominated for the BBC’s Sound of 2012 poll and their debut single, Love Me, entered the charts at No 5.

The newly-developed Raise The Roof stage, meanwhile, will welcome comedy super-group The Idiot B*stard Band.

An all-star line-up of Ade Edmondson, Phill Jupitus, Neil Innes and Rowland Rivron will perform their favourite songs by Flight Of The Conchords, The Bonzo Dog Doo Da Band, They Might Be Giants, and poet John Hegley.

The stage will also host Yes Sir Boss, who are signed to Joss Stone’s Stoned Records. Building on successful 2011 festival slots, the Bristol-based six-piece are working on a ska and rock album.

Ian Bairstow, Bradford Council’s strategic director for environment and sport, said: “The line-up for this year’s Bingley Music Live is already looking brilliant and more names are still to be announced. It is going to be a fantastic event and will build on its reputation for being a festival with a big heart and big sounds.”

Now in its sixth year, Bingley Music Live is introducing a new third stage dedicated to local talent. Organised in association with the Musician’s Centre, bands who live in the BD postcode can apply for a slot on the stage by entering an online competition. Details are available at musicianscentre.
