West Riding County FA Women's Cup finalists Bradford City lost their chance of a double triumph when they surprisingly went down 2-1 at home to Cheadle Heath in the Northern Women's Combination League, and they cannot now catch leaders Newcastle United.

It was a huge disappointment for third-placed City, who face Newcastle in their final game, but coach Steve Winterburn will be looking for an improvement at lowly Stockport County on Sunday to put them in a better frame of mind leading up to the cup final clash with Leeds United on April 12.

The Cheadle Heath game saw a rare disjointed effort from City, with Winterburn citing on-field disharmony as a contributary factor in their defeat.

Clare Fawcett gave City a first-half lead but, having levelled the scores, Cheadle stole the points two minutes from time with a penalty.

Second-from-bottom Guiseley, having lost 3-0 at Barnsley in their last game, hope to ease their relegation problems when they take on bottom club St Francis in the North East Women's Regional League Premier Division, while in Division One (South), Kirklees were 2-0 winners at home to Malet Lambert and Rothwell were 5-1 victors at home to Ossett Albion - but neither can now catch the top two.

Match of the day in the West Riding Women's League Premier Division is at leaders Keighley Oaks, who take on second-placed Harrogate Railway, with the two sides level on points, while Bradford Park Avenue are at home to bottom club Hemsworth Miners' Welfare, with a third place finish still a possibility.
