A Bradford teenager has been handed a Positive-Social Behaviour Order by Yorkshire Housing for helping to teach young children to swim.
Michael Jones, 16, a member of the Bradford Esprit Diving Club, trains 20 hours a week in springboard and platform diving, and has competed at National Elite level and internationally in Canada, Ireland and Spain.
He recently started teaching younger children at the club how to dive for three hours a week.
He was awarded a PosBO – a twist on anti-social behaviour orders – by Yorkshire Housing at an awards ceremony to mark young people’s efforts in making a difference to their local area.
Michael’s father Denis Jones, who nominated his son for a PosBO, said: “I’m so proud of my son. He’s a shining example of the good that young people are doing in their community.”
