Calderdale residents are being encouraged to register to vote in time for the council elections on May 3.
There are 12,000 homes in Calderdale where no one is registered to vote, and Calderdale Council is sending letters to all the properties.
The Council’s principal elections officer, Linda Clarkson, said: “Having a say in the local council elections is really important.
“Whilst the deadline for applications is April 18, we’d like people to get their forms back to us as soon as possible to ensure that they don’t miss out. If they return their forms after that date, they will still be processed, but they won’t be entitled to vote on May 3.”
Copies of the form are available on the Council’s website at calderdale.gov.uk, by e-mail from electoral-services@calderdale.gov.uk or by telephoning the electoral services unit on (01422) 393103.
