A Silsden man given a suspended prison sentence for drug-driving has been given a curfew after failing to attend appointments.
Lee Moorby, 30, missed appointments with his probation officer on October 31 and on January 17, Skipton magistrates heard last Wednesday.
Moorby, who admitted the breaches, had also been sentenced to 120 hours’ unpaid work by Keighley magistrates in October last year, and had 65 hours left to do.
The court heard that Moorby had missed appointments and had failed to notify the probation office. He was a cocaine user and drinker who had even fallen asleep while at meetings with his officer.
Mitigating for Moorby, Jane Nield said he had missed appointments because he had been offered casual work and was keen that it would continue.
Magistrates removed the unpaid work part of Moorby’s original community order and replaced it with a three-month curfew running seven days a week from 9pm to 6am.
They warned Moorby, of St John’s Close, that he faced prison for any more breaches.
