Snow and ice cause tricky driving conditions across district

Motorists are being warned to take extra care on untreated roads in the district this morning.

There is a high risk of ice on lesser routes, while snow is falling in parts of the district.

Motorists have encountered snow in areas such as Steeton and Skipton.

One of the main incidents on the roads this morning took place on the A650 near Crossflatts when two vehicles were involved in a collision. The incident caused delays, but has now been cleared.

People travelling by train have also experienced problems, with a broken-down train causing disruption on the Airedale and Wharfedale routes.

Routes to the south of Bradford have not been as badly-hit by the weather as those to the north, with traffic on the M62 much lighter than normal this morning.

Has your journey been affected by the snow and ice this morning? Do you have weather-related pictures taken today? If so, send your comments and pictures to newsdesk@telegraphandargus.co.uk

Drive carefully, not like you usually drive. Stay well below the speed llimit for a change. Use your indicators for a change (I know it's a lot to ask). Don't park on the pavement like you usually do. Remember to STOP for red lights rather than ignoring them as usual. Watch out for pedestrians and cyclists, rather than cutting them up like you usually do. Don't drive in the Bus Lane as normal, it is for BUSES and TAXIS only. Don't use your hazard warning indicators as an excuse for illegal parking, like you usually do. In short; LEARN HOW TO DRIVE OR SELL YOUR TIN BOX ON WHEELS AND INSTEAD WALK LIKE THE REST OF US.
