More people have made a date with Bradford pop star Zayn Malik’s boy band One Direction than with any other celebrity.

Amazon says the One Direction calendar for 2012 is its biggest-selling celeb product in its history.

West Bowling’s Zayn and the boys are outselling last year’s calendars from former Girls Aloud singer Cheryl Cole and rival boyband JLS. And their sales are a massive 241 per cent ahead of perennial favourite Cliff Richard’s 2011 calendar in the all-time top ten.

On sales of 2012 calendars alone, One Direction are leading the charge ahead of JLS, Cliff Richard, Justin Bieber and Take That.

Darren Hardy, of Amazon, said: “One Direction have had a busy year and their calendar is obviously high on their fans’ Christmas wish lists.”

Zayn, 18, a former Tong High School student, shot to fame this time last year when One Direction came runners-up on X Factor. Since then they have released a chart-topping album and single.
