SIR – I am writing regarding the letter from Emmerson Walgrove in the (T&A, 29 June).
Mr Walgrove makes the fatuous statement that those on strike this Thursday are the ‘paymasters’ of Labour councillors. Does he assume that the four striking unions are all affiliated to the Labour Party?
In fact, none of them are.
