Good luck to them. It's a shame that a minority give the hard working majority a bad name.

I have much regard for these people especially as they face similar attitudes to those faced by Christians in Pakistan.
No doubt those who claim them to be false Muslims will be along to shower them with the usual tirade of abuse!

It's really good to see those Muslims who really believe that their religion is one of 'peace', standing up to be counted like this. All power to their cause, if more would rally to it, Bradford would be a much better city.

Simply Google "religious persecution in Pakistan", That should be evidence enough (not everyone who makes claims that we don't like has to be a liar).

This article does not question their religion, or how muslim they actually are, so why mention it? Could I just ask why this group is not referred to as Christian? They claim that their founder is the second coming of Christ as per the Bible. So why not declare them as Christians? Is it because Christians reject their claim? You mean just as 1.5 billion Muslims reject their claim?

You ask me what the issue is that I have with them? Well I've been researching and reading the writings of their founder for the past six years. I have an issue when he labels my mother (as well as yours) a prostitute for not revering his books. He labels all those who reject him as non-Muslims. I have limited space here so I'm not going to go through every point. The current leader labels all those who reject Mirza Ghulam Ahmad as "Satan worshippers" and you wonder why we distance ourselves for them and do not include them under the banner of Islam.

I am vehemently against any form of persecution they face and talk out against it. The fact is Ahmadiyya is a new religion and it's continuing insistence in stealing my identity is an issue. This is nothing but further propaganda from this group.

P.S. They operate as a cult. How many of you know this? They demand as an obligation 1/16th of each members wage, pension, jobseekers allowance and any other form of income every single month. They recently humiliated a family for taking part in a mixed wedding by announcing their names in a Friday sermon and declaring them out of the fold of their religion. They don't want to open dialogue regarding their beliefs and tell their members to stay away from Sunnis. Just recently I had a document from the UK head Raf Hayat saying no one will have their marriage form signed until they have a counseling session with them first. I have these documents if you want to see them. It is very much a cult. I could sit here and break down why we as Muslims have an issue with this group which is stealing our identity. I've simply touched the tip.

If I use your identity and commit a crime would you be tolerant of the fact I did it in your name? I have an issue with Ahmadiyya with the label they give themselves of Islam. I have Ahmadi friends and if I was intolerant then surely I couldn't label them as friends. I am very tolerant of all religions. This is a new religion and should be recognised as such, that's all we're saying. My earlier question was rhetorical, I thought that was obvious.

Find me one true follower of Islam who says that the Prophet Muhammad was not the last and final messenger of Allah (excuding your sect).
If you believe your so called "prophet was Jesus or Brahma, then why dont you call yourself Hindu or Christians, then no Muslim will have a problem with you.The sooner that you realize that your sect is deviant and false and leading you up the wrong path, the better it will be for you. I shouldn't advise a follower of the word of Mohammed to start criticising the personal habits of others.
I should make it clear that I am not a devotee on any religious structure and at my great age and after many debates I am even further from ever being so but this is meant to be about this group reaching out to the community and it isn't the first time that they have done so here, Others here are simply trying to discredit this by their actions.
I am not a Christian but I don't come on here and start running them down because I don't like them opening their churches to homeless persons (of any faith), At the start of this thread I predicted what would happen and it has!

The truth is that the vast majority of muslims find these peoples' beliefs very offensive. Applaud their efforts, fine; but don't make out every muslim who cringes at these peoples' beliefs as "intolerant, warped, extremist". Extremism is coming outside of the law that God laid down - so actually we could classify these people as extremists could we not for inventing a new religion.
Anyhow, Islam teaches to be
patient with misguided people - so just because we disagree with them doesn't mean we are "intolerant". Rather intolerance takes two meanings and one is to be patient with those you disagree with.

There really is no limit to the identity theft being carried out by the Ahmadiyya Cult, since 2005 Muslims have held a peace campaign and in 2007 Muslims were the first to advertise on buses "Islam Is Peace" but because of the Islamaphobic press they never highlighted that campaign as they only hold interest in stories that show muslims in the negative.
The media know well that the Ahmadiyya are not Muslims but it doesn't bother them because Anti-Islamic press sells!

I was not referring to Jesus ( peace be upon him)when I made the above comments. I have utmost respect for Jesus. I was referring to this sect leader ( whom they claimed to be Jesus)that was born and died in a toilet. Those campaigns were indeed featured in this newspaper, I rather think that some people might have dismissed them as a publicity stunt to try and detract attention from some other activities.

Albion made some unbiased and positive comments about the Ahmadiyya Communitys peace campaign.As expected sexysam and other guardians and protectors of Islam like tannay786-want to act as God's right hand men and decide who is a muslim, who is a Christian etc. They go on harping on about 1.5billion muslims calling Ahmadis as non Muslims. Have they looked at the sad state of affairs in the Muslim world recently-so called muslims blowing up other Muslims and christains. So called muslim nations wanting others to be bombed.So called muslims calling one another infidels and declaring holy wars and "jihads" on each other. As for the "research" that tannay786 has carried out on the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community-it is not even worth a laugh. This isn't actually about Christian persecution but as you mention it, that is equally wrong! As I have been broadly supportive here to an organisation which IS Muslim in the eyes of some and whose leader is regularly quoted when reports about the Council for Mosques are featured I don't quite see an "anti-Muslim angle from me here, Maybe I am anti-some more than others?

I may disagree with this particular sect of individuals, but I give credit where credit's due.

I like to congratulate Dr Iqbal and his community for this hard work. Good luck with this campaign. I know few Ahmadies. They are very nice and decent people. If Ahmadies call themselves as Muslim then what is problem to other Muslims. Ahmadies have a spiritual leader (khalifa) who is guiding them on everything. This is a blessing of God to them. At the end of the day if a person says he is Muslim, Christian, Jew of Hindu then nobody can change his heart .

Why is everyone arguing about religion??? The article was about peace.. To the Real Muslims who don't want to be associated with the Ahmedia or watever group it is the way I c it is they're doing good at mo, they're giving a message of peace under the name ISlam, so basically given u free credit and positive publicity so wats the prob?? Not read the above comments but would like to point out if it hasnt already:

Where are the extreme muslims in the UK from? Apart from the 3 London morons it has been recent immigrants to the country from the middle east or northern Africa.

If is safe to say that most muslims in the UK have integrated to some point, not as much as it should have, but it has. It is the government which is allowing these extreme muslims into the country to brainwash the young muslims. And the young muslims are easily swayed, racism in the country is higher than ever, but we are hiding it pretty well, not employing muslims is one of the acts. So a lot of young muslims are unemployed and feel abandoned by their country.

So along comes these extremist muslims and draw them away, get them used to their ideology and make them into extremists as well.

The government is tackling extremism on the wrong fronts, and expects results. Just like this as campaign, no-one will care about it, it will not get any message across, all they have done is waste their money on some silly ads.

Just look around you, the average muslim youth looks like a complete ****! They think they are gangsters like their african-american "bros". They are all involved in some sort of crime and drugs. There are no real job opportunities for them, if they really wanted a job, as they have become accustomed to the benefits culture and drug dealing being more profitable. Their parents dont care as long as they go to mosque at least every Friday and pray, cos that's all that's required to be a good muslim and honest person.

It's a disgrace really! Many of them go to mosque on the Friday, then a couple hours later are fighting over coming into a rival gang's area stabbing each other. But yes as long as they pray on the Friday, it's all good.

To those parents: WAKE UP! You are not raising your children! Bad parenting is the cause of many of these kids behaving like animals, perhaps that is what should be tackled!

Anyway, as usual lots of stuff one can say but I could end up writing a whole book regarding the incompetences of parenting, society and worthelss government projects.

I think France has the right idea, no outward signs of religion. I don't agree with this campaign being shown on buses - religion causes trouble there is always a them and us situation and by the teachings of the self proclaimed leaders of any religion theirs is the only true god so you can argue till you're blue in the face but there will never be tolerance.

Hello, Salam, Namaste to you all- i think now the dust has settled on this topic- therefore i would like to congratulate the peace effort of my Ahmadiya Family on there most recent campaign and also try to reach out on the neutrals who read this and try to give a true picture of what Ahmadiyat is about. Firstly for those whom have a perceived idea on the Ahmadi Muslims, i truly pray for you, that one day you see the light (as is our duty)but until then i request you to stop listening to Mullahs etc and try find your own answers. To the remainder of us out here whatever creed, race or religion you could not find a more peaceful, caring or tolerant community then that of Ahmadiyat.

PS Just one last though to all non Ahmadi Muslims who want to take note, Just for one second, just one, think what if it is true, and the Iman Mehdi ( becasue for the posterd on here obviously did not know - you are still waiting for him) did arrive, your lifetime is being wasted and your forefathers has been wasted!!!!!!!! It seems to me that people have lost the thread a bit on this one. However the Ahmadis identify themselves and however they're percieved by others, they should be applauded for trying to counter some of the negativity that abounds in society today to bring a message of peace.
I am floating somewhere between agnostic and atheist myself, but I can still find time to respect positive messages and actions by those with faith, and all this "he said she said" (however accurate or inaccurate) not only serves no purpose, but takes away from the actual message that we are all here together, and whatever deity we worship (or not as the case may be), we all should strive to live together in peace and do all we can to improve this world for all it's inhabitants.

Well done to the Ahmadiyya Muslims. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God!

You ask me what the issue is that I have with them? Well I've been researching and reading the writings of their founder for the past six years. I have an issue when he labels my mother (as well as yours) a prostitute for not revering his books. He labels all those who reject him as non-Muslims. I have limited space here so I'm not going to go through every point. The current leader labels all those who reject Mirza Ghulam Ahmad as "Satan worshippers" and you wonder why we distance ourselves for them and do not include them under the banner of Islam.

I am vehemently against any form of persecution they face and talk out against it. The fact is Ahmadiyya is a new religion and it's continuing insistence in stealing my identity is an issue. This is nothing but further propaganda from this group.

Are they really stealing your identity? or is it the case that Islam is undergoing a Reformation, just as Christianity did? Does it really matter? after all, it's a big wide world and there's surely enough room for all religions to co-exist. And, ultimately, all religions are one, as the prophet Bahá'u'lláh (PBUM) told us.

For those who were offended by comments regarding Christ (peace be upon him) from another user, maybe you should see the views of the Ahmadiyya. Their "prophet", Mirza Ghulam Ahmad says about Jesus (peace be upon him) that, "...being born without a father proves that he was deprived of some physical abilities", "...The world did not get any spiritual benefit from him. He left an example of such a prophethood whose harm proved to be greater than its good. Sufferings and conflicts increased due to his coming", "...Jesus actually suffered from epilepsy and that was the reason that he used to see dreams… Jesus had actually become insane due to epilepsy", "...He was the least successful of the Prophets in his work of reform", "...Jesus’ three paternal and maternal grandmothers were fornicators and prostitutes, from whose blood Jesus came into existence... Jesus had an inclination for prostitutes perhaps due to his ancestral relationship with them...” In addition to these insults he has mant boasts about how he, Mirza Ghulam Ahmad is superior to the messenger of God, Jesus Christ (peace be upon him). That doesn't offend you? You're fine with all that? As a Muslim I am offended and I won't have them pushing forward this material in the name of my religion!
