A martial arts club held demonstrations in Centenary Square, Bradford, in aid of Japan’s earthquake and tsunami victims.
The Bradford Jitsu Club collected hundreds of pounds in two hours yesterday as pupils demonstrated Ju Jitsu skills to the crowd.
Instructor Raj Soren said the club collected nearly £300 as children and adults took part in the demonstrations. He said: “We did a number of Ju Jitsu techniques and then we went around with buckets to ask for money.
“People were very generous and I think that is pretty good money for two hours’ work. It is a Japanese martial art and we thought what better way to try to give back to the Japanese people than by doing something that we know is for a good cause.”
