The head boy and head girl of All Saints Primary School in Bradford have been selected.
Avais Ali, 11, and Sumaira Khan, ten, successfully made it through a tough application process in which they had to take one of the school’s governors, Harry Atkinson, on a tour of the buildings.
Deputy head teacher, Jo Byndloss, said: “They are really reliable, hard-working children and they are good role models.
“The governor was very complimentary about them.
“We have a number of children with disabilities and they very sensitively explained that to him.”
Avais and Sumaira have been given distinctive sweatshirts to wear and it will be their task to welcome visitors to the school. The remaining pupils who applied have been made prefects.
