After their stirring defensive display brought an 11-7 home win over Darlington Mowden Park last Saturday, Bradford & Bingley have to back that up on Saturday in another National League Three North top-four clash.

The second-placed Bees are at third-placed Chester, with Bradford & Bingley director of rugby Martin Whitcombe saying: “If Chester lose, it could mean their challenge will tail off.

“But the clubs that are in the mix at the end of the season are the ones that manage their injuries and player availability the best.

“You don’t want to flog the same 15 players every week, and with that in mind there might be one or two changes in our side.”

Whitcombe added: “But Chester will provide a tough test. You don’t stay in the top four of this division so far into the season without being a good side.”
