A scheme to introduce a no-cold-calling zone in Ilkley is set to be implemented after residents gave the go-ahead.

Homeowners in the Grove Park Estate area have agreed to take part in the exclusion zone, which could be operational by the end of next week.

The zone would see participating residents given signs and window stickers warning cold-callers not to approach their homes.

It will be funded under the Proceeds of Crime Act, which uses cash recovered from criminals to fund community projects.

Police needed a 75 to 80 per cent response rate to go ahead with the zone, which covers 15 streets.

Sergeant Jo Beecroft (pictured), of Ilkley Police, said they were in the process of printing signs and stickers and were hoping to get the scheme up and running within the next week.
