Evita is returning to Bradford by popular demand.

The stirring Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice classic, about the life story of Argentina’s first lady, Eva Peron, from her ambitious beginnings to enormous wealth and power, was at the Alhambra in February and is back this autumn.

Featuring well-loved numbers such as Don’t Cry For Argentina, You Must Love Me, Oh What a Circus and Another Suitcase In Another Hall, the show has countless awards to its credit and was turned into an Oscar-winning movie starring Madonna and Antonio Banderas.

Moving along at breakneck speed, encompassing the full score from the movie version, it’s a compelling show with action shifting from smalltown Argentina to the streets of steamy Buenos Aires to Juan Peron’s grand corridors of power.

Evita runs at the Alhambra from October 4 to 9. For tickets, ring (01274) 432000.
