An “amazing” lottery prize has been claimed after organisers warned the unclaimed cash could be lost.
The lucky ticket-holder has scooped £880,156, after matching all six numbers in the Lotto draw, on Saturday, April 24.
Lottery bosses are remaining tight-lipped about the winner’s identity and exactly where the ticket was bought.
National Lottery operator Camelot Group said unless the winner signs a publicity agreement, no further information can be released about their win.
A National Lottery spokesman said: “We’re delighted that the winner of this amazing prize has now come forward and we hope that they will enjoy their win.
“It would have been awful if the ticket-holder had missed out on this substantial and life-changing amount of money.
“We would like to remind all National Lottery players to check their tickets every time they play.”
Lotto players are also being urged to double check old tickets as a £91,276 prize from a draw on November 18 has also gone unclaimed. The holder of the ticket, which matched five numbers and the bonus ball, only has until 5.30pm on Monday to claim their prize.
The winning numbers on that date were: 1, 4, 12, 13, 18, 19, and the bonus ball was 38. If no-one comes forward the money will be donated to good causes, which has raised £24 billion through sales of tickets since the National Lottery started in November, 1994.
In 2008 Bradford district was named the sixth luckiest postcode area according to the National Lottery.
One person in every 7,127 people living in the Bradford postal area has scooped a prize of £50,000 or more.
And more than £102 million has been handed out to Bradford residents since the lottery began in 1994. Big money winners have included Janette and Stephen Wright, who netted a £1.6 million windfall after buying a ticket from a newsagent’s in Cleckheaton.
And 17 employees from the Bradford University and Bradford College print and design department took home £300,000 each in 2006 after their syndicate scooped £5.2 million.
