Stuart Reardon is to join Leon Pryce as the second Bradford-born player to leave his home-town club at the end of the

current season.

The Bulls were today officially set to announce the departure of the 23-year-old former West Bowling amateur after failing to agree terms on a new deal.

Reardon, who won the Harry Sunderland Trophy for his man-of-the-match performance against Wigan in the 2003 Grand Final, has made 78 appearances for the Bulls, scoring 38 tries.

He featured in all 32 of the club's matches last season and was an ever-present in the starting line-up this year until losing his right wing spot to Pryce for the round 24 match against Salford.

Bulls officials were hopeful of retaining Reardon after coming close to agreeing a new deal. However the club blanched at matching an improved big-money offer from Warrington Wolves - believed to be in the region of £85,000 per season.

Bulls chairman Chris Caisley feels the club made Reardon a good offer to stay at Odsal.

"We made Stuart an offer that was a substantial increase on his current deal," said Caisley.

"But we have been aware for some time that another club has made him an offer which neither Stuart nor his agent felt he could turn down. I fully understand Stuart's decision and wish him well."

With skipper Jamie Peacock now almost certain to quit the club for arch-rivals Leeds, the loss of a second home-grown star may not sit well with Bulls fans.

However, Caisley insisted the club's recruitment for Super League XI had been progressing well. Rhinos duo Marcus Bai and Chris McKenna have both been strongly linked with off-season switches to Odsal.

"We are continuing our

recruitment for the future and we shall be making positive announcements well before the start of next season," said Caisley.

The club are yet to make any announcement on the futures of out-of-contract forwards Jamie Langley and Lee Radford, with only one of the pair likely to be retained.
