FIFTEEN-year-old Paul Bevington of Addingham has joined the race for a place in the final of the 1998 Daily Telegraph/Center Parcs Junior Golf Championship.

Paul shot an 86 to win his qualifying round at Bracken Ghyll Golf Club on April 15 and now has to wait until late August to find out if he has earned a place in the final to be held at The Cloister and Sea Island Golf Club in Georgia, USA, in September.

Each qualifying competitor joins a national leaderboard with the best gross scores qualifying for the televised, 36-hole strokeplay final.

All entrants require a handicap of 28 or less for boys and 40 or less for girls who are under 18.
