Otley Badminton Club, who currently run six league teams, have finished another reasonably successful league season as it sets out to celebrate its 40 years existence.

The club merged with Bramhope and Otley Westgate Badminton Clubs in the late sixties and early seventieas to form the club as it is now.

Ovre the years the teams have won many accolades including winning the Leeds League's Anchor Trophy three times. Last year rthe first teamn gained promotion to the highest division of the Harrogate League.

The club is just not restricted to badminton for they also run many social events throughout the year including ten pin bowling, summer walks and a treasure hunt.

Individual teams also run their own end of season celebrations - usually at a local restaurant - win or lose.

Apart from match badminton the club also plays social badminton on Monday and Friday evenings at Prince Henry's Grammar School sports hall,Otley. from September.

More importantly however they will be running an open summer session from tonight, Friday, until June 26 so if you have just moved to the area or maybe you used to be amember the club would welcome you.
